Overview
De HP ProCurve Switch 5400zl serie bevat de meest geavanceerde intelligent edge switches in de HP ProCurve netwerkproductlijn. De 5400zl serie omvat 6-slots en 12-slots behuizingen en de bijbehorende zl modules en bundels. Het fundament van al deze switches is een speciaal gebouwde programmeerbare ProVision ASIC die het mogelijk maakt de meest veeleisende netwerkkenmerken, zoals QoS (Quality of Service) en beveiliging, met granulaire schaalbaarheid te implementeren. Met Gigabit-interfaces, geļntegreerd PoE op alle 10/100/1000Base-T poorten, 10-GbE functionaliteit en keuze uit verschillende modellen bieden 5400zl switches een uitstekende bescherming van de investering, flexibiliteit, schaalbaarheid, gemakkelijke implementatie en bediening en probleemloos onderhoud.

• Remote Intelligent Mirroring: spiegelt geselecteerd inkomend/uitgaand verkeer op basis van ACL, poort, MAC-adres of VLAN naar een lokale of remote 8200zl/6200yl/5400zl/3500yl switchpoort ergens in het netwerk
Interfacemogelijkheden
• IPv6: IPv6 host: de switches kunnen worden beheerd en geļmplementeerd aan de rand van IPv6 netwerken; Dual stack (IPv4/IPv6): biedt een migratiemechanisme van IPv4 naar IPv6; ondersteunt beide protocollen; MLD snooping: stuurt IPv6 multicast traffic door naar de juiste interface; voorkomt dat IPv6 multicast traffic het netwerk overbelast; IPv6 ACL/QoS: ondersteunt ACL en QoS voor IPv6 netwerkverkeer.

• IEEE 802.1ad Q-in-Q (Premium licentie vereist): verhoogt de schaalbaarheid van het Ethernet netwerk door een hiėrarchische structuur; sluit diverse LAN's aan in high-speed campus- of metronetwerk
Layer 3 services
• UDP helpfunctie: UDP broadcasts kunnen via routerinterfaces naar specifieke IP-unicastadressen of subnet-broadcastadressen worden gezonden om serverspoofing voor UDP-services zoals DHCP te voorkomen
